Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – The joint ministerial meeting between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jordan, and the Russian Federation was held via video conference to discuss Iranian aggression
and developments in the regional situation in light of the accelerating escalation in the region.
Research on Iranian attacks
The meeting was chaired by Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani,
with the participation of the foreign ministers of
the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, along with Sergey Lavrov.
The repercussions of the Iranian attacks targeting the Gulf states and Jordan,
and the threat they pose to the security and stability of the region, were also reviewed.
Coordination of regional positions
The participants emphasized the importance of coordinating efforts and political positions to address current challenges,
given the increasing security risks stemming from Iranian military escalation.
They also stressed the need to support regional stability and strengthen diplomatic channels.
Monitoring developments
Jassem Mohammed Al-Badawi explained that the meeting also addressed the latest developments in the region,
noting that consultations are ongoing among the participating parties
to monitor developments in the Iranian crisis and explore ways to contain it.
This meeting comes within the framework of intensive regional and international efforts
to discuss ways to de-escalate tensions and prevent the conflict from spreading.
It is important that this ensures the preservation of security and stability in the region.
