Tehran, Iran – Several Iranian provinces experienced a massive and coordinated wave of airstrikes and explosions starting in the early hours of Monday, March 30, 2026. These attacks caused widespread disruption to infrastructure. This indicates an unprecedented military escalation unfolding across multiple urban fronts simultaneously.
Targeting security centers in Kurdistan and Zanjan
The escalation began in Sanandaj at 4:50 a.m., with an attack on Police Station No. 17 in the Abbasabad district. Simultaneously, a surprise attack targeted a Basij militia center in Dehgolan.
In Zanjan, the governor’s office reported an attack on a residential building on Shahrak Road. Initial reports indicate that three people were killed and seven others wounded, reflecting the seriousness of the situation on the ground.
Qom explosions and power outages in the capital
In Qom, a series of nine consecutive explosions rocked the university campus and Ghadir Park between 6:09 and 6:10 a.m. The blasts caused residential buildings to shake and plumes of smoke to rise.
In Tehran, the capital, a turbulent morning began with a power outage in the Pasdaran district at 6:30 a.m. This was followed by a similar outage in Tehransar after explosions and gunfire were heard.
Powerful explosions were also reported in Ekbatan, near Mehrabad Airport, and in the Tehranpars district. These explosions caused traffic and security disruptions.
Southern Front: Heavy shelling on Abadan and Tabriz
Abadan emerged as one of the most targeted locations, with attacks beginning at 7:00 AM. These attacks targeted the area surrounding a petrochemical plant with at least 11 strikes. The barrage of explosions continued until 10:30 AM. In Tabriz, reports confirmed a massive explosion targeting a petrochemical complex. Amid these events, there were reports of significant material damage.
Military movements and sporadic explosions
In Hamadan, intense movements of Revolutionary Guard forces were observed, coinciding with a series of explosions attributed to their sites. Attacks also targeted Karaj and Kish Island. Reports indicated an explosion at the city’s airport. These developments suggest the country is facing a wave of coordinated “surgical” attacks aimed at simultaneously crippling military capabilities and vital infrastructure. Meanwhile, the security situation in most of the targeted cities remains highly unstable and precarious.
