Kabul, Afghanistan – Information Minister Attaullah Tarar announced heavy casualties and significant material and human losses inflicted on the Afghan Taliban as a result of the intensive military operations launched by the armed forces under the name “Operation Wrath of Truth.” In an official statement published on his X account, the minister confirmed that the operation achieved broad strategic objectives deep inside Afghanistan. He also warned that any threats to national security would continue to be targeted.
Human and field toll
According to data provided by Tarar, the operation has so far resulted in the deaths of 641 Afghan Taliban fighters and injuries to more than 855 others. Additionally, 243 checkpoints have been completely destroyed, while another 42 have been secured and subsequently destroyed to ensure the militants cannot return.
Paralyzing military and logistical capabilities
The results of Operation Wrath of Truth were not limited to direct confrontations but extended to the movement’s military arsenal.
The Minister of Information explained that ground and air forces were able to neutralize significant technical and military capabilities. This included the destruction of 219 tanks and armored vehicles, as well as a number of artillery pieces that had been used to target border areas. Tarar emphasized the pivotal role played by the air force in this operation. It carried out precise and focused strikes targeting 65 strategic locations in various regions across Afghanistan.
The minister described these strikes as “highly effective.” They succeeded in destroying the movement’s command and control centers and supply depots. As a result, this led to widespread confusion among its fighters.
A message of resolve
These statements come at a time of escalating security tensions in the region. In this context, the minister emphasized that “the wrath of truth” is a clear message to all those attempting to destabilize the region. He affirmed that the armed forces will continue their targeted operations to secure border areas and will work to ensure the protection of national sovereignty against any infiltration or terrorist attacks.
