Cairo, Egypt – Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi condemned the continued Iranian attacks targeting several Arab countries.
He considered them a blatant violation of international law and the UN Charter,
and a direct threat to regional security, according to the Emirates News Agency.
Accusations of violating Arab sovereignty
The Speaker of the Arab Parliament affirmed that the attacks carried out by Iran using missiles and drones
since the beginning of the escalation reflect a recurring pattern of aggression.
He emphasized that these attacks disregard the sovereignty of states and the safety of civilians.
He added that targeting infrastructure in Arab countries reveals
a blatant disregard for international humanitarian law.
He pointed out that these operations have resulted in civilian casualties.
This, he said, reflects a determination to spread chaos and destabilize the region.
Call for urgent international action
The Speaker of the Arab Parliament held the Iranian regime fully responsible for these attacks and their repercussions.
He called on the international community to take an immediate and decisive stance to stop these violations.
He also called for legal, political, and moral action to put an end to what he described as aggressive policies
that threaten international peace and security.
He stressed that the continuation of these attacks without deterrence would exacerbate tensions
in the Middle East and further complicate the regional landscape.
Arab support for defensive measures
Al-Yamahi reiterated the Arab Parliament’s full support for the affected Arab states.
He affirmed their right to take all legitimate measures to defend their sovereignty
and protect their territories and resources, in accordance with the principles of international law.
He explained that this support comes within the framework of joint Arab solidarity to confront escalating security threats.
It also aims to maintain regional stability amidst rising military tensions.
