Jeddah, Saudi Arabia – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi affirmed Egypt’s full support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in confronting any threat targeting its sovereignty and security,
during his meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah.
Egyptian condemnation of regional escalation
President Sisi reiterated his country’s condemnation of the repeated
Iranian attacks targeting Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and vital infrastructure,
stressing that the continuation of these attacks represents a dangerous escalation that threatens the security and stability of the region.
He emphasized that Egypt rejects any attempts to undermine the security of Arab states
and fully supports efforts to maintain regional stability.
Joint coordination to address challenges
During the meeting, the two sides discussed developments in the Middle East,
particularly in light of the escalating military tensions and their repercussions on regional and international security.
President Sisi and Mohammed bin Salman also discussed ways to enhance bilateral coordination
to address current challenges and intensify efforts to contain tensions.
Eid greetings and strengthening bilateral relations
The meeting began with an exchange of greetings on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr,
with both sides expressing their wishes that God would bring this occasion
back to both countries and the Islamic world with goodness and stability.
At the conclusion of the visit, President El-Sisi departed Jeddah, seen off by the Saudi Crown Prince,
in a testament to the depth of bilateral relations between Cairo and Riyadh.
