Tel Aviv, Israel – The Israeli military announced it had carried out extensive airstrikes on the Iranian capital, Tehran, targeting sites linked to the ballistic missile program, in a new escalation of military operations between the two sides.
Targeting production and storage facilities
The army explained in a statement that the air force carried out the attacks under the guidance of intelligence, targeting dozens of sites,
including Revolutionary Guard complexes for the production of missile components,
sites for storing materials used in their manufacture, as well as facilities related to the production of missile fuel.
Strikes against air defense systems
The army statement indicated that the Israeli raids were not limited to manufacturing sites,
but also included air defense systems deployed in different areas of Tehran,
in an attempt to undermine Iranian defense capabilities and open the way for subsequent operations.
Continued escalation of military operations
The Israeli military confirmed that these operations are part of an escalation targeting military infrastructure related to missile development,
which it considers a direct threat, and stressed that strikes will continue in the coming period.
These developments come amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel in recent weeks,
marked by an exchange of attacks and repeated targeting of military installations and infrastructure, raising fears of a wider confrontation in the region.
