Manama, Bahrain – The General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force announced today, Saturday, that the Kingdom’s air defense systems continue to vigilantly counter successive waves of Iranian “heinous terrorist” attacks targeting Bahraini territory.
In an official statement, the Command revealed the results of defensive operations since the start of the brutal aggression, stating that, thanks to God, air defense personnel have intercepted and destroyed 143 missiles and 242 explosive-laden drones. The General Command expressed its pride in the advanced combat readiness and high operational efficiency demonstrated by the Bahrain Defence Force personnel in protecting the homeland.
It affirmed that this heroic performance instills reassurance and unwavering confidence that the Kingdom’s skies are protected by God’s grace. It also emphasized that the armed forces will remain the impregnable shield defending national achievements.
In a related context, the General Command urged citizens and residents to exercise extreme caution to ensure their safety, and to stay away from affected areas and avoid touching any suspicious objects.
It also stressed the prohibition of filming military operations or debris impact sites. It called on everyone to refrain from spreading rumors and to obtain information only from official sources and government media outlets to stay informed of alerts and warnings. The General Command concluded its statement by emphasizing that the use of ballistic missiles and drones to target civilian infrastructure and private property constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and the Charter of the United Nations.
It described these indiscriminate attacks as a direct threat to regional peace and security. It also stressed that the Kingdom of Bahrain reserves its full right to take all necessary measures to protect its security and sovereignty.
