Doha, Qatar – The Qatari Ministry of Defense announced that its armed forces successfully intercepted two ballistic missiles launched from Iran toward Qatari territory. The attack targeted the Ras Laffan Industrial City.
Details of the missile attack
The ministry explained in a statement carried by the Qatar News Agency that the two missiles were successfully intercepted before reaching their targets. It also affirmed the readiness of air defense systems to deal with any potential threats.
Simultaneous attacks during the day
She noted that this attack came after the country was targeted earlier in the day by five ballistic missiles. Air defenses intercepted four of them, while one missile landed in the Ras Laffan area, causing a fire that authorities are working to contain.
Continued regional tensions
This escalation comes amid rising tensions in the region. The repeated missile and drone attacks reflect an intensification of confrontations and a heightened state of defense preparedness in several Gulf states.
