Kuwait – The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior announced that the State Security Service was able to thwart a terrorist plot targeting vital facilities inside the country, following intensive security monitoring and investigations that resulted in the arrest of 10 citizens involved in the case.
Details of the terrorist plot
The investigations revealed that the accused belong to a group linked to Hezbollah, where they planned the operation in advance and coordinated with external parties, seeking to provide them with the coordinates of sensitive sites within the country, which represents a direct threat to national security.
Outdoor training and drone use
The ministry revealed that the cell members received external training in camps affiliated with the organization, which included the use of weapons and dealing with drones, as part of preparations to carry out sabotage operations aimed at destabilizing and spreading terror in society, stressing that the accused made detailed confessions about those activities.
Official warning and tightening of measures
The Ministry of Interior stressed that it will deal firmly with anyone proven to be involved in harming the country’s security or cooperating with terrorist organizations, affirming the continuation of security efforts to track down all those involved and take the maximum legal measures against them, in order to preserve the security and sovereignty of the state.
