Manama, Bahrain – The General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force announced today that its air defense systems successfully intercepted a series of aggressive attacks launched by Iran against the Kingdom’s security and stability.
Attempts to target civilian infrastructure and vital facilities were also thwarted.
Defensive interception statistics
The General Command, in an official statement carried by the Bahrain News Agency (BNA),
revealed that the national air defense systems demonstrated high combat efficiency
from the very first moments of the brutal Iranian aggression. Official figures indicated that:
129 ballistic and cruise missiles.
233 (suicide) drones.
The statement noted that these aerial threats were dealt with precisely and professionally before reaching their targets.
This prevented catastrophic losses of life and property, and affirmed the constant readiness of the air defense forces to protect the Kingdom’s airspace.
A blatant violation of international law
The General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force stressed that the Iranian regime’s insistence
on using ballistic missiles and drones to target populated areas and private property can only be described
as a “flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and the Charter of the United Nations.”
The Kingdom affirmed that these heinous and indiscriminate attacks target not only Bahrain
but also constitute a “direct threat to regional peace and security,”
revealing aggressive intentions that disregard all international norms and conventions stipulating
respect for the sovereignty of states and the protection of civilians in conflicts.
A message of steadfastness and sovereignty
The Bahrain Defence Force concluded its statement by affirming its unwavering commitment
to fulfilling its national duty of defending the homeland and safeguarding its resources.
It renewed its pledge to remain the Kingdom’s impregnable shield and reiterated
its commitment to continuously developing its defense capabilities to deter
any desperate attempts to undermine Bahrain’s security and the safety of its citizens and residents.
All of this will be done in coordination and cooperation with its brothers in the Gulf Cooperation Council and international allies.
