Tehran, Iran – Iran announced it had targeted energy facilities in the Israeli city of Haifa, asserting that the attack was in retaliation for strikes on Iranian sites in recent days. Later, Tehran revealed that several of its diplomats were killed in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, in airstrikes it attributed to Israel.
Iranian officials stated that the attack targeted vital energy facilities in Haifa using precision missiles. They indicated that the operation was part of what they described as a “legitimate response” to attacks targeting military sites and infrastructure inside Iran.
Tehran confirmed that the strikes focused on facilities linked to the energy and industrial sectors in Haifa. It asserted that these sites are part of the infrastructure supporting Israeli military operations in the region.
In a related development, the Iranian Foreign Ministry announced the deaths of several Iranian diplomats in Beirut. It stated that they were killed in airstrikes targeting locations near Iranian diplomatic missions in the Lebanese capital.
Iranian officials described the attack as a “serious assault” on Iranian diplomats, asserting that Tehran would pursue the matter through international channels. They also vowed to take necessary measures to respond to what they considered a direct targeting of their representatives abroad.
These developments come amid escalating military tensions between Iran and Israel, marked by an exchange of missile strikes and airstrikes. This escalation is raising growing concerns that the conflict could spread to other countries in the Middle East and threaten the stability of the entire region.
