Washington, DC – US Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman General Dan Keane announced that Iranian ballistic missile launches have decreased by 86% compared to the first day of the US-Israeli strikes on Iran. He noted “steady progress” in the ongoing military operations in the region.
During a press briefing at the Pentagon, Keane explained that the pace of Iranian attacks has slowed significantly in recent hours. He added that the decline accelerated noticeably over the past day.
Further decline within 24 hours
The military official stated that missile launches had decreased by 23% in the past 24 hours alone. This indicates a continued decline in Iran’s offensive capabilities.
He also noted that attacks by single-pronged drones had decreased by 73%. He asserted that this decline reflects the impact of ongoing military operations on Tehran’s combat capabilities.
Expanding operational superiority
Kaine asserted that the reduced frequency of missile and drone attacks allowed U.S. forces to expand their operational superiority, particularly in the southern regions of the Iranian coast.
He added that U.S. Central Command had established “local air superiority” along the southern flank of the Iranian coast and had been able to penetrate defense systems with precision and overwhelming firepower.
Trump’s simultaneous statements
These statements come a day after US President Donald Trump declared that Iran’s air and naval forces had been “annihilated” as part of ongoing military operations.
Tehran has not yet commented on the figures released by the US. This comes amid continued tit-for-tat strikes and an unprecedented escalation in the region.
