Kyiv, Ukraine – Ukraine has denied Russian accusations that it is seeking nuclear weapons with the support of Britain and France, calling the claims “absurd” and baseless.

Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Heorhiy Tykhi said that Russian officials, known for their history of “lies,” are rehashing what he called “the old dirty bomb nonsense.”

Highlights
  • renewed official denial
  • Media tensions escalate

renewed official denial

Tikhey emphasized that Kyiv had repeatedly denied these accusations in the past and was now reiterating its official denial. He also called on the international community to reject what he termed Moscow’s “dirty information bombs.”

The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service had accused both Britain and France of secretly preparing to supply Ukraine with spare parts and technology related to nuclear weapons, without providing any evidence to support these claims. There has been no official comment yet from London or Paris regarding these accusations.

Media tensions escalate

These statements come amid ongoing political and military tensions between Moscow and Kyiv. Accusations continue to be exchanged regarding issues of regional and international security.

Russia has not yet responded to the Ukrainian denial at the time of this report. Meanwhile, international reactions to developments related to the Ukrainian crisis continue.
