Warsaw – Poland Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski has urged Polish citizens currently in Iran to leave the country as soon as possible due to escalating security tensions in the region.
The Poland Foreign Ministry confirmed in an official statement that the warning was issued “out of concern for the safety of citizens,”
noting that the unstable regional situation could affect air traffic and travel routes in the coming period.
Growing European concern
The Poland Foreign Ministry urged its citizens to avoid gatherings and sensitive areas,
and to contact the Polish embassy to update their information in preparation for arranging their departure,
amid concerns about escalating tensions in the Middle East.
Poland move comes as part of a series of warnings issued by several European countries to their citizens,
amid growing fears of sereflecting increasing European concern about the potential for escalation in the coming days.
