Tel Aviv, Israel – Hebrew media reports indicate that the Israeli army has intensified its military operations deep inside Lebanon in recent days. These reports suggest that these moves are part of a broader strategy to prepare for a potential direct confrontation with Tehran.
Channel 12: A prelude to a “potential war” with Iran
According to Israel’s Channel 12, the army has intensified its attacks against Hezbollah targets in preparation for a new round of conflict that could directly involve Iran. This escalation aims to:
Weaken offensive capabilities: targeting missile launch sites and weapons depots.
Neutralize support: reduce Hezbollah’s ability to support Tehran in the event of a major confrontation.
The toll of assassinations in February
In a related development, the Israeli newspaper Maariv revealed the results of operations since the beginning of February. It confirmed that the Israeli army had eliminated 12 members of Hezbollah and Islamic Jihad in Lebanon, reflecting a high rate of targeted operations.
Field operations: Division 91 in confrontation
For its part, the Israeli army issued a statement on Monday detailing its recent field operations, stating:
“During the past week, the 91st Division eliminated four Hezbollah operatives who were working to rebuild the party’s infrastructure inside Lebanese territory.”
These developments on the ground reflect Israel’s determination to prevent Hezbollah from restoring its military capabilities in the border areas or deep inside Lebanon. This comes amidst escalating tensions and threats exchanged between Tel Aviv and Tehran.
