Amman, Jordan – After a 35-year hiatus, Jordan has launched a military training program for young people. Observers have described the move as a revival of an important tradition aimed at fostering national spirit. The program also aims to develop discipline and leadership skills among young people from various backgrounds.
The program, being implemented for the first time in decades, targets thousands of young Jordanians from across the country. It includes practical training in civil defense skills and the use of basic military equipment. It also focuses on developing teamwork and cooperation abilities, along with instilling in participants the importance of discipline and national responsibility.
The Jordanian Ministry of Defense confirmed that the program also aims to strengthen national identity among young people. It further aims to prepare a generation capable of actively participating in serving society and the nation. This will be achieved while preserving the military traditions that have formed part of the Kingdom’s modern history.
Officials explained that the program provides an opportunity for young people to gain new experiences and develop their physical and mental capabilities. They also indicated that it will be implemented according to organized plans and phased stages to ensure safety and efficiency. This will be done while taking into account modern developments in military training methods.
Experts believe that relaunching this program after three and a half decades carries strong symbolic weight. This comes amidst a focus on empowering youth and preparing them for responsibility. The program contributes to strengthening national security and stability, reflecting Jordan’s vision of investing in future generations and building a conscious and cohesive society.
