Cairo, Egypt – Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriate Affairs, held a telephone conversation with His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates. This came within the framework of ongoing consultation and coordination between the two brotherly countries.
Affirming the strength of Egyptian-Emirati relations
The call addressed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between Egypt and the UAE, with both ministers affirming the strong fraternal ties that bind the two countries. They also emphasized their shared commitment to building upon the positive momentum in relations, which will enhance cooperation across various fields and serve the common interests of both nations.
Both sides stressed the importance of continued political coordination. Furthermore, they affirmed the necessity of intensifying joint efforts on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
Developments in Gaza and efforts to achieve calm
The two ministers discussed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing the need to implement the requirements of the second phase of the plan proposed by US President Donald Trump. They also stressed their support for the National Committee for the Administration of the Strip, as well as the swift deployment of the international stabilization force to monitor the ceasefire.
They further emphasized the importance of ensuring the continued and unhindered flow of humanitarian aid. In addition, they stressed the need to pave the way for early recovery and reconstruction. At the same time, they emphasized the importance of preserving the unity of the Palestinian territories and preventing the escalation of tensions in the region.
Arab and Islamic coordination before the Peace Council meeting
