Tehran, Iran – Iranian media reported a massive fire Tuesday morning in the popular Jannat Bazar market in the Jannatabad district of Tehran. The blaze triggered a security and civil defense alert in the area.
Details of the incident and the field operation
According to initial reports, a fire broke out in a large commercial shed spanning approximately 2,000 square meters, housing numerous stalls and various shops.
Thick plumes of smoke were seen blanketing the sky over the western part of the capital, causing concern among nearby residents. A spokesperson for the Tehran Fire Department stated that firefighters rushed to the scene immediately upon receiving the report and are currently working diligently to contain the flames and prevent them from spreading to adjacent buildings and commercial centers.

The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time, and official investigations are expected to begin as soon as the firefighting and cooling operations are complete. Initial reports indicate significant material losses to goods and stalls. Meanwhile, no official reports have yet been released regarding any injuries. Iranian authorities have urged citizens to avoid roads leading to the Jannatabad neighborhood to facilitate the movement of water tankers and emergency vehicles belonging to the fire department.
