Maputo, Mozambique – Health authorities in Mozambique and international aid organizations have warned of a potential widespread outbreak of malaria
and cholera as floods continue to devastate large parts of the country,
destroying infrastructure and displacing thousands of families.
Reports indicate that stagnant floodwaters, coupled with damaged sewage systems and drinking water sources,
have created ideal breeding grounds for mosquitoes and waterborne diseases,
exacerbating health risks, particularly among children and the elderly.
