Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz left a hospital in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on Friday after undergoing medical tests. The results of the tests showed a reassuring state of health, according to the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The agency stated that the medical tests conducted on the Saudi monarch were part of routine monitoring of his health. It confirmed that the results were not cause for concern, allowing him to leave the hospital and resume his duties normally. King Salman is 90 years old and has been undergoing regular medical checkups for several years.
King Salman continues with his responsibilities
In a related development, SPA reported that King Salman chaired a cabinet meeting in Jeddah last Tuesday.
This indicates his continued commitment to fulfilling his constitutional responsibilities
and overseeing state affairs, as well as local and regional political and economic matters.
It is worth noting that the Saudi monarch received medical treatment in 2024 after contracting pneumonia,
before health authorities announced at the time that his condition had improved and stabilized.
This occurred amidst repeated official assurances of his ongoing health monitoring.
Riyadh plays a pivotal role
King Salman leads Saudi Arabia, the world’s largest oil exporter.
The Kingdom wields significant political and economic influence at both the regional and international levels,
and is one of the United States’ most prominent allies in the Middle East.
These health developments come at a time when the region is witnessing rapidly escalating political and security challenges, in which Riyadh plays a pivotal role.
The announcement of King Salman’s discharge from the hospital was met with widespread relief
in official and public circles both within and outside the Kingdom.
Activists and citizens shared messages of prayer and well wishes for his continued health and well-being.
Official sources confirmed that the King’s program for the coming days will continue as planned, taking into account medical recommendations.
This reflects the Saudi leadership’s commitment to reassuring the public
about the stability of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ health.
