Aleppo, Syria – The Syrian army launched concentrated attacks today on drone launch sites belonging to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in areas east of Aleppo. Damascus deemed the move necessary to counter the growing security threats to its military and civilian sites.
Military sources indicated that the strikes successfully destroyed a number of launch sites and associated equipment with precision. The extent of casualties was not disclosed. The operation followed the detection of drone movements used for reconnaissance and attack purposes, according to the military statement.
Loud explosions were heard in some areas east of Aleppo, causing concern among civilians and prompting a mobilization of forces in the region. So far, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have not issued any official statements regarding these developments.
These movements come amid growing fears of an escalation in the fighting, which could worsen the humanitarian situation and hinder ongoing political settlement efforts in northern Syria.
