The Syrian Ministry of Interior categorically denied, today (Monday), reports circulated by some media outlets and social media platforms claiming that a security incident had targeted Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa and a number of senior state officials.
The Ministry’s spokesperson, Nour Al-Din Al-Baba, stated that the circulating reports are completely unfounded, stressing that they rely on fabricated information and data falsely attributed to official entities,
with the aim of spreading confusion and destabilizing public opinion.
In a post on his official account on the “X” platform, Al-Baba said that what has been circulated falls within the scope of media disinformation campaigns that have no connection to reality.
The security situation is stable
The Ministry’s spokesperson added that the competent authorities are monitoring the sources of these rumors,
emphasizing that the security situation is stable and that there is no truth to any such incident.
He confirmed that security institutions continue to perform their duties normally, and all relevant leadership figures are carrying out their work without interruption.
Al-Baba called on citizens not to be swayed by unverified news and urged media outlets to adhere
to the highest standards of professionalism and responsibility when reporting information.
He highlighted the importance of relying exclusively on official, accredited sources when addressing sensitive security issues.
