Beijing, China – The Chinese Ministry of Defense asserted that the recent military exercises conducted by the armed forces represent a clear and firm warning to all those seeking what Beijing calls “Taiwan independence,” as well as to foreign forces interfering in China’s internal affairs.
A Chinese defense spokesman said the exercises were conducted to protect national sovereignty and territorial integrity, stressing that Taiwan is an inseparable part of China and that any attempts to change this reality or impose a new status quo would be met with firm responses.
The spokesman added that the military exercises included various scenarios reflecting the readiness of the Chinese army to deal with various challenges, whether at the naval or air level, stressing that the main objective of them is deterrence and preventing escalation, not seeking confrontation.
He noted that foreign interventions, particularly those providing military or political support to separatist forces in Taiwan, are a major factor in destabilizing the region, warning that the continuation of these policies could have serious repercussions for the security of the Asia-Pacific region.
These statements come amid escalating tensions around the Taiwan Strait and intensified Chinese military activities, in parallel with international moves that Beijing considers provocative, reflecting the complexity and sensitivity of the regional landscape at the present time.
