Seoul, South Korea – The South Korean military announced it is taking measures to demarcate and clarify the land border with North Korea. This move aims to reduce the risk of accidental military clashes and maintain security and stability on the Korean Peninsula.

The army explained in a statement that these measures aim to more precisely define the lines of separation on the ground. This adjustment ensures clear deployment and movement areas for forces stationed near the border. It also reduces the likelihood of miscalculations or unintended incidents, especially in areas close to the demilitarized zone.

This adjustment ensures clear deployment and movement areas for forces stationed near the border. It also reduces the likelihood of miscalculations or unintended incidents, especially in areas close to the demilitarized zone.

These developments come amid intermittent tensions between the two Koreas. They also come amid regional and international calls for de-escalation and the maintenance of military communication channels to prevent a sudden escalation of the situation.
