Kyiv, Ukraine – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called on parliament to put in place options for holding national elections as soon as possible,
in a move aimed at strengthening political stability and ensuring
the continuation of the democratic process in the country.
During the parliamentary session, Zelensky stressed the need f
or any elections to be transparent and linked to a specific timetable.
This reflects the government’s commitment to citizens’ rights
to political participation and to contribute to shaping Ukraine’s future.
Parliament faces significant challenges, including ensuring
adequate security conditions in conflict-affected areas.
Strengthening trust between citizens and government institutions,
amid continued economic pressures and rising living costs.
Analysts believe that Zelensky call for early elections could help ease
political tensions and boost the popular legitimacy of the government.
It also gives parties the opportunity to rearrange their priorities
and attract larger segments of voters.
This supports the democratic process and enhances internal stability.
