Providence, USA – Two people were killed in a shooting on the campus of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. Local police stated that the incident caused panic among students and faculty.

Authorities reported that security forces and ambulance crews were immediately deployed around the university. A wide security cordon was established, and some classes were suspended as a precautionary measure. Students were instructed to remain inside secure buildings.

Police have not yet released the identities of the victims or the motive for the attack. They indicated that the investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances of the incident and to ascertain whether there are any other suspects.

For its part, Brown University confirmed its full cooperation with law enforcement. It emphasized that the safety of students and staff is its top priority, and that it is providing psychological support to those affected by the incident.

This attack has reignited the ongoing debate in the United States about gun violence on university campuses and educational institutions. This comes amid calls for stricter security and safety measures.
