Washington, DC – The Trump administration continues to push the issue of the southern border to the forefront with a new plan that includes establishing a fortified military zone along parts of the border with Mexico. This move has been described within American political circles as an “unprecedented escalation” in border control measures.
According to officials familiar with the project, the new area will include advanced surveillance units, rapid deployment points, and thermal and aerial monitoring centers. This will be in addition to reinforcing the presence of National Guard and Border Guard forces.
Officials said the plan aims to curb smuggling and illegal immigration and bolster national security, amid escalating domestic debate over immigration policies.
Drafts of the plan indicate that the proposed military zone will operate under a 24-hour surveillance system, with expanded powers for deployed forces. This has drawn objections from some lawmakers who believe the move “could infringe on the civil rights of residents in border states.”

In contrast, sources close to Trump insist that the administration is proceeding with what it deems necessary to protect the borders. They emphasize that national security is a “non-negotiable priority.”
These developments come as the US administration continues to tighten immigration policies and reorganize border security measures. This is happening amid sharp political divisions over the future of addressing illegal immigration.
