Amman, Jordan – Jordan is hosting a new round of the “Aqaba Meetings” initiative today, Tuesday, in partnership with the Republic of Albania.

During his meeting with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama at Al Husseiniya Palace, in the presence of Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, King Abdullah II of Jordan emphasized the importance of promoting interfaith dialogue, noting that this would be a key focus of the next round of the initiative.

King Abdullah praised Albania’s role in co-hosting this tour.

A holistic approach to combating terrorism

The Aqaba Meetings, launched by King Abdullah II in 2015, aim to enhance security and military coordination and cooperation. They also seek to facilitate the exchange of expertise and information among various regional and international stakeholders to combat terrorism through a comprehensive approach.

This tour follows a previous meeting chaired by King Abdullah II in cooperation with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on October 15. A previous round of the initiative was also organized jointly with Italy in Rome.
