Cairo, Egypt – Five teams have secured their qualification for the quarter-finals of the Arab Cup so far, while three remaining spots are still vacant and awaiting resolution.
The second qualifying spot in Group B will be decided this evening when Morocco faces Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, Oman will play Comoros in the third and final round of group stage matches in the Arab Cup.
The second group in the Arab Cup includes the national teams of Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Oman and Comoros.
The Saudi Arabian national team secured its qualification to the quarter-finals from Group B, while the battle for the second spot remains open between Morocco and Oman.
Palestine and Syria qualified from Group A to the quarter-finals, following their goalless draw yesterday, Sunday, in the final round, with Palestine topping the group and Syria finishing second, each with 5 points.
Jordan qualified from Group B after winning their first two matches and topping the group standings. The battle for the second qualifying spot remains between Egypt, the UAE, and Kuwait.
In Group D, Iraq secured the first qualifying spot after winning the first two matches and topping the standings, while the battle for the second spot remains between Algeria and Sudan.
The list of teams that have qualified for the quarter-finals so far is as follows:
Group 1: Palestine and Syria.
Second: Saudi Arabia.
Third: Jordan.
Fourth: Iraq.
The top two teams from each group are scheduled to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Arab Cup.
