Paris, France – The famous Louvre Museum in Paris suffered an unfortunate incident that resulted in the damage of
about four hundred ancient books and references in its Egyptian antiquities department
This was due to a recent flash flood, according to the French newspaper Le Figaro.
The flooding was caused by a problem with the museum’s heating,
ventilation and air conditioning system.
This resulted in water leaking into the department’s archive and library area.
Despite the Louvre Museum’s management confirming
that specialized teams began work immediately
The artifacts and valuable exhibits were not directly affected by the flood.
The destruction of these old reference books and manuscripts represents
a loss of historical information and documentation.
Which is used by missions and research in the field of Egyptology.
