New Delhi, India – India and Nepal have launched a new phase of military cooperation through joint exercises. These exercises simulate jungle warfare and counter-terrorism operations. They are part of maneuvers aimed at enhancing the readiness of ground units and strengthening their ability to conduct combat in extremely challenging terrain.
According to official data, India is hosting part of the training, which includes simulated engagements in dense forests. It also encompasses tactics for storming militant hideouts, as well as training in intelligence coordination and rescue operations in rugged terrain.
Through these maneuvers, the two neighboring countries seek to enhance joint military operations and gain new field experience. This comes especially in light of the escalating security challenges in their regional environment. These challenges require armies capable of dealing with unconventional attacks and forms of armed insurgency.
Military leaders in both countries confirmed that the exercises will last for several days. They will include live-fire drills and exercises in detecting improvised explosive devices (IEDs). In addition, tactical maneuvers based on the latest combat doctrines for confronting terrorist groups in remote areas will be conducted.
According to observers, these maneuvers reflect New Delhi and Kathmandu’s desire to develop deeper defense partnerships. This development ensures border stability and strengthens deterrence capabilities against cross-border threats.
