Berlin, Germany – German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt announced that he is seeking to intensify the deportation of Afghan and Syrian asylum seekers who commit crimes back to their countries of origin.
Speaking in Leipzig on Saturday at the regional conference of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) in Saxony, Dobrindt said he is currently working to organize regular deportations not only via charter flights, but also via scheduled flights.
He added: “We will continue talks with Afghanistan and Syria and will ensure that these operations are carried out simply.”
Dobryn added, according to Reuters, that society expects convicted criminals not to return to cities and regions after serving their prison sentences. He continued, “We must significantly increase our readiness to continue deportations because we must take into account the legitimate concerns of our citizens who do not want to see these individuals in their cities and towns again.”
Dobrindt stated that he was recently asked whether he felt any remorse regarding the deportation of people to Afghanistan. He continued, saying that he replied: “I would feel remorse if I did not do everything in my power to ensure the deportation of criminals who threaten our society in Germany. Therefore, we will continue this approach relentlessly.”
It is worth noting that Dobrindt belongs to the Bavarian Christian Social Union (CSU). This party, along with its sister party, the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), headed by Chancellor Friedrich Merz, forms the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), the senior partner in Germany’s governing coalition.
