Washington, United States – Two US service members were injured in a shooting near the White House, according to local media.
ABC News reported that two military personnel were shot near the White House.
Reuters quoted a White House spokeswoman as saying that US President Donald Trump had been briefed on the shooting of two National Guard members. She announced that the White House was on lockdown.
For her part, the Secretary of Homeland Security said, “We are working with local law enforcement authorities to gather more information.”
Later, Washington Metropolitan Police said the suspect in the shooting of two National Guard members had been taken into custody.
