Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis: Greece launches relief package

Athens, Greece – Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced the start of distributing around 600 million euros this week as direct financial support, as part of a broad relief package.

It aims to alleviate the pressures caused by the high cost of living

and inflation that burden citizens.

Starting this Monday, more than 1.4 million low-income retirees will receive

In addition to uninsured elderly people and people with disabilities,

there is a permanent payment of 250 euros.

Those eligible to benefit

Eligible couples who meet the income criteria will also automatically receive 500 euros.

Eligibility criteria include that the beneficiary be over 65 years of age.

This is with an annual income of up to 14,000 euros

for individuals or 26,000 euros for couples.

The value of the properties was set at 200,000 euros

for individuals and 300,000 euros for couples.-package

Age limits do not apply to retirees with disabilities.

Rent refunds begin at the end of November

On November 28, nearly one million households will receive

a refund of up to 800 euros for their 2024 rent.

This is in addition to €50 for each dependent child. This reimbursement

covers primary or student accommodation.

It will be paid annually in November

without the need to submit an application.

A government plan worth 2.5 billion euros

These funds are part of a broader government plan totaling 2.5 billion euros.

It aims to support more than five million people through wage increases,

Reducing the burden on salaries and making adjustments to pensions.
