Cairo – Egypt witnessed a historic event in the energy sector on Wednesday, as President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi participated with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin via video conference in the ceremony to install the pressure vessel of the first reactor at the Dabaa nuclear power plant.
It is the first nuclear power plant in Egypt with a total capacity of up to 4800 megawatts.
This step represents the start of operation of the first of four Generation III+ nuclear units
This project is considered strategic for enhancing Egyptian energy security
