Washington, DC – US President Donald Trump has ruled out the idea of supplying Ukraine with long-range Tomahawk missiles. He confirmed that this option is “not currently on the table” should he return to the White House.
Trump explained in remarks carried by US media that the United States “has provided sufficient military assistance to Kyiv.” He emphasized the need to “seriously consider the consequences of the continued flow of weapons into the war, and the potentially disastrous escalation it could cause.”
These statements come at a time of increasing pressure on the current US administration to expand military support for Ukraine. This is particularly true given the demands to provide Ukraine with long-range missiles capable of striking deep inside Russia.
It is worth noting that Tomahawk missiles are among the most advanced weapons in the American arsenal. With a range exceeding 1,500 kilometers, they can be launched from ships or submarines. All of this makes them weapons capable of significantly altering the balance of power on the battlefield.
Analysts believe Trump’s stance reflects a more cautious approach to direct military involvement in the Ukrainian war. This is the same position he expressed during his election campaign, when he promised to “end the war within 24 hours of taking office,” indicating his preference for negotiation over escalation.
