Spain – In a rare and almost unbelievable event, a Spanish photographer managed to document the world’s first white Iberian lynx. He captured it on camera as it roamed through the forests of southern Spain.
The Iberian lynx, one of the most endangered animals in Europe, has appeared in pure white. This coloration contrasts sharply with the species’ usual range of brown and spotted gray, surprising scientists and wildlife enthusiasts.
Media reports indicate that this is the first time a completely white lynx has been spotted since monitoring programs for the species began decades ago. It is believed that this is due to a rare genetic mutation.
The photographer explained that he had been following the lynx for several days before he was able to capture the photos and video. He confirmed that the experience was “an exceptional moment that will never be repeated.”
The Iberian lynx is one of the symbols of wildlife on the Iberian Peninsula. Spain and Portugal are making great efforts to protect it from extinction after its numbers declined dangerously in recent years.
