Côte d’Ivoire – The Independent Electoral Commission of Côte d’Ivoire announced that outgoing President Alassane Ouattara had won a new term. He received 89.77% of the total votes. Observers described the result as a broad popular mandate and a continuation of the country’s path to political and economic stability.
The elections witnessed a significant voter turnout amid tight security measures to ensure a smooth electoral process.
The commission confirmed that the process took place in a calm and orderly atmosphere. It noted that the final results reflect voters’ confidence in Ouattara’s leadership and, therefore, are evidence of the continuation of the reforms he initiated during his previous terms.
The Constitutional Court is expected to announce the official ratification of the final results in the coming days, marking the beginning of a new term for the winning president.
