ANKARA, Türkiye—The Turkish Presidency affirmed that the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK)’s decision to withdraw

its fighters from Turkish territory and the border strip is an important step in the right direction.

Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz said in a post on the InSocial platform that

this step represents “positive progress that deserves to be welcomed.”

Pointing out that the Kurdistan organization, which had announced its dissolution,

In response to the call of its founder, Abdullah Ocalan, it began implementing

its pledge to remove its fighters from Türkiye.

Yilmaz added that Türkiye is closely monitoring this process.

Emphasizing the need to take concrete steps to completely

eliminate the organization as soon as possible.

He also stressed that “the shadows of weapons and terrorism will disappear,”

It will contribute to strengthening democracy, developing the economy,

and achieving the well-being of citizens.
