Damascus, Syria – The Syrian national football team officially qualified for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup, scheduled to be held in Saudi Arabia, after renewing its victory over Myanmar 3-0 on Tuesday.
This is in the fourth round of Group Five in the qualifying rounds.
With this victory, the “Qasioun Eagles” raised their score to 12 points from four matches, 6 points ahead of Myanmar.
And 11 points for each of Afghanistan and Pakistan, who meet later.
The Syrian national team had crushed Myanmar 5-1 in the previous match held in the Saudi city of Al-Ahsa.
Omar Kharbin scored a hat-trick in a match that saw him miss today’s match due to suspension.
In Tuesday’s match, Pablo Sabbagh, the South Korean striker for Suwon, shone after returning from injury.
He scored two goals in the 79th and 85th minutes.
While Mohammed Al-Salkhadi scored the third goal in the 85th minute with a decisive pass from Sabbagh.
It is noteworthy that Syria had reached the second round for the first time in its history during the last edition of the Asian Cup, which was held in Qatar.

The Syrian national team will meet its Pakistani counterpart in a friendly match on November 18, 2025.

While Myanmar will meet Afghanistan on November 18.
The team will play its last match against Afghanistan on August 31, 2026, at Prince Abdullah bin Jalawi Stadium in Saudi Arabia.
The Syrian national team has participated in seven previous editions of the tournament, and will participate in its eighth edition in 2027.
The Qasioun Eagles’ best achievement is qualifying for the round of 16 in the Qatar 2023 edition.
Syria national team in the qualifiers
The team started its journey with a 2-0 victory over Pakistan, and defeated Afghanistan 1-0 in the second round.
He achieved a resounding victory over Myanmar in the third round, and repeated his victory over Myanmar in the fourth round.
The Syrian team thus topped Group 5 with a perfect score, having collected 12 points from four matches.
