Moscow, Russia – Russia supports US President Donald Trump’s nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize. The Russian TASS news agency quoted Kremlin advisor Yuri Ushakov as saying this on Friday.
The 2025 award winner is scheduled to be announced at 09:00 GMT.
But veteran observers of the award rule out Trump receiving it.
Russia has repeatedly expressed its gratitude for Trump’s efforts to end the war in Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in statements published on Thursday that Kiev will nominate Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. This is a prize he aspires to win.
This is if he succeeds in reaching a ceasefire.
