Moscow, Russia – The Russian Defense Ministry said on Sunday that air defense systems shot down 361 Ukrainian drones over the past day.
The Interfax news agency quoted the Russian Defense Ministry as saying on Sunday that Russian forces shot down 361 Ukrainian drones during the past day.
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Saturday that its air defense systems shot down 42 Ukrainian drones over the country overnight.
A Russian official said on Saturday that a Ukrainian drone crashed over one of the largest oil refineries in central Russia.
It caused a fire and minor damage.
“Today (Saturday) the Bashnev facility was subjected to a terrorist attack launched by marches,” Rade Khabirov, governor of the Bashkortostan region, wrote in a Telegram post. A fire broke out and is now being fought.
Khabirov said that one of the drones was shot down over a production site.
Which led to a fire, and work is underway to extinguish it.
He added that the damage to the facility was limited and there were no injuries.
This comes as Russian forces continue their advance on the battlefronts in eastern Ukraine.
The ministry announces almost daily that its forces have taken control of more villages and towns in various provinces, from Sumy in the north to Zaporizhia in the south, passing through Kharkiv, Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk.
