Alaska, United States – On Friday, US President Donald Trump placed the burden on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky regarding ending the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Trump said the Ukrainian president could build on the Alaska summit and ensure an agreement ends the three-year Russian-Ukrainian war.
“Now, it’s really up to President Zelensky to get this done,” Trump told Fox News after his summit with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.
He added, “I also say that European countries must participate, even if just a little, but the matter falls on President Zelensky“, noting that his assessment of the summit is “ten out of ten”.
The US President confirmed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin will hold a meeting to try to reach a ceasefire to end the Russian war in Ukraine.
“Now, it’s really up to President Zelensky to get this done,” Trump said in the same interview. I would also say that European countries should intervene a little. But it’s up to President Zelensky… If they wish, I will be at the next meeting.”
“They’re going to set up a meeting now between President Zelensky, President Putin, and me, I think,” he added.
