Cairo, Egypt – The makers of the film “Family Business” starring artist Mohamed Saad decided to withdraw it from theaters after its revenues declined during the last few weeks, coinciding with the start of the strong competition for films of the Eid al-Adha 2026 season, which began early with the release of the films “Asad” and “Kalam Ala Eh?!”.

A noticeable decline in box office revenue

The decision to pull the film came after a significant drop in its box office revenue since its release during the Eid al-Fitr season. Despite Mohamed Saad’s return to cinema after a period of absence, the film failed to maintain high attendance rates, remaining at the bottom of the daily box office charts. This prompted distribution companies to end its run in preparation for the release of several new films during the Eid al-Adha season.

Total revenue

The film grossed a total of 20,938,367 Egyptian pounds during its theatrical run, a figure considered by some to be average given the strong competition and the other films released during the season, especially considering the expectations surrounding Mohamed Saad’s return to the big screen.

Film heroes and makers

The film stars Mohamed Saad, Ghada Adel, Donia Sami, Mahmoud Abdel Moghni, Ahmed El Rafei, and Heidy Karam, and is directed by Wael Ehsan.
