Cairo, Egypt – The Censorship Board issued an official statement announcing the suspension of the screening of the film “The Tagamoa Killer” and the withdrawal of all its copies from cinemas, just hours after its release in theaters last night.
The version shown violated the approved script. The censorship authority explained, through the statement, that the decision to withdraw came as a result of the production company and the creators of the work not adhering to the script and dialogue approved by the censorship authority, as the version shown included scenes and events that were not included in the approved text.
Scenes of extreme violence violate licensing terms The statement indicated that the released version also contained scenes of extreme violence and cruelty, which were deemed to violate licensing terms and were not part of the version that received final approval from the censorship board. The censorship board confirmed that it had contacted the production company, demanding the removal of all unauthorized scenes and full adherence to the approved version of the script and dialogue.
The film will be resubmitted to the censors after modifications are made. The censors emphasized that the film’s content must comply with the age rating and screening requirements as a prerequisite for its theatrical release.
