New York, USA – Three people dressed as construction workers broke into a home in the Jamaica Hills neighborhood of Queens and stole a safe containing jewelry valued at approximately $3.2 million,
according to the New York Police Department.
The incident occurred on Thursday, October 16, at approximately 2:20 p.m., in a store near the intersection of 160th Street and 84th Street in the area.
The suspects entered through the back door, then fled the scene using a blue Hyundai Elantra.
No injuries were reported, while authorities released photos of the suspects.
They wear bright construction jackets, white construction helmets, and carry black backpacks.
It is believed that the third leader in the operation was driving the getaway car.
The New York Police Department is currently working to compile video evidence and surveillance camera footage from the neighborhood.
She urged the public to submit any information to the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
This incident is considered one of the largest home burglaries recorded in Queens in recent times.
This raises questions about how the house was targeted and how much jewelry was pumped into it.
