In the first trial, Lamjarred was convicted of raping and beating Laura Prioul in a luxury Paris hotel room in 2016, after they met at a nightclub. Lamjarred denied having sexual relations with the woman, admitting only to “brutally pushing” her in the face because she had scratched him while they were kissing. Lamjarred is currently on trial under judicial supervision, having been provisionally released in April.

It’s worth noting that Lamjarred faces similar charges in France, the United States, and Morocco, yet he remains a popular figure in the Arab world with a wide following on social media.
