Gaza, Palestine – A Palestinian official warned that the health sector in Gaza is facing extremely difficult conditions, with escalating challenges impacting the ability of hospitals and medical centers to provide basic services to the sick and wounded.

The official explained that the health system is suffering from a severe shortage of medical supplies and medications, in addition to the immense pressure on medical staff due to the increasing number of critical cases. This is placing hospitals in an unprecedented position of struggling to cope with the deteriorating humanitarian situation.

He pointed out that the continuation of these conditions could lead to a serious decline in the level of health services, especially in emergency and intensive care units, stressing that the current situation requires urgent intervention to provide basic needs and immediate support to the health sector.

He noted that medical personnel are making great efforts despite limited resources, but that a prolonged crisis could exacerbate the humanitarian challenges within the sector.
