Abu Dhabi, UAE – Abu Dhabi Ports Group announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Dagen Heavy Industries Limited, one of the leading manufacturers of offshore wind energy equipment. To explore opportunities for long-term cooperation in developing offshore wind power supply chains and offshore logistics services. Port infrastructure, and strategic investments in ships.

This cooperation builds on a series of strategic initiatives and partnerships recently announced by Abu Dhabi Ports Group in the renewable energy and marine projects sectors. Including recent agreements with Masdar, Siemens Energy, and Green Barot. In addition to the acquisition of the Balenciaga Astilleros shipyard in Spain, which specializes in offshore wind energy. Together, these efforts contribute to strengthening the group’s capabilities in the marine energy sector.

Survey of cooperation opportunities

The memorandum of understanding reflects the common ambition of the two parties to unify their integrated capabilities. With the aim of accelerating growth in offshore wind energy markets and energy infrastructure in Europe and other regions.

Under the memorandum, the two parties will work to explore cooperation opportunities, including: providing transportation solutions for components used in the offshore wind energy sector, and developing pre-assembly centers. Cooperating in selected tenders within the offshore wind energy sector and specific industrial projects. Providing solutions for manufacturing, assembly and logistics of marine energy infrastructure.

strategic importance

It is worth noting that the offshore wind energy market continues its strong global growth. Driven by accelerating carbon reduction targets and increasing large-scale investments in renewable energy. Offshore wind energy capabilities are expanding in Europe, Asia and emerging markets.

This sector is expected to grow from US$109 billion in 2026 to US$307.5 billion by 2035. Reflecting the growing scope of offshore wind energy and its strategic importance within the global transformation of the energy sector.
