Astana, Kazakhstan – The UAE national judo team raised its tally to two medals, “silver and bronze”. At the conclusion of the heavyweight competitions in the Astana Grand Slam Championship organized by the Kazakhstan Federation. Under the supervision of the International Federation, during the period from May 8 to 10.

Player Omar Marouf won a bronze medal (over 100 kg), after strong competitive stages in the qualifiers, which began with him defeating Kazakhstan champion Krik Galmjan. Then French champion Timan Diaby, before losing to Russian world champion Inal Tasuev.

It is noteworthy that the UAE national team opened its participation in the tournament by winning the silver medal for player Bashirat Kharoudi, in the under 52 kg weight category.

On the other hand, the Board of Directors of the Emirates Judo Federation, headed by Mohammed bin Thaaloub Al Deri, announced participation in the Tashkent Junior Cup Championship. Hosted by the Federation of Uzbekistan on May 28 and 29. With a list of 5 players: Masoud Al-Masmari (under 55 kg), Anas Al-Yamahi (under 60 kg), Saqr Al-Otaibi (under 66 kg), Hamid Al-Mazmi (under 73 kg) and Youssef Al-Awad (under 81 kg).
